Refund policy
BOA Beauty Bar Returns & Refunds Policy
This policy applies to physical products purchased through the BOA Beauty Bar online store.
We do not offer voluntary change-of-mind returns or exchanges beyond those required by South African law. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”).
Defective, damaged or incorrect products
Please inspect your order upon delivery and notify us of any visible damage, defects or incorrect items as soon as possible, preferably within seven days of delivery. This reporting request does not reduce your statutory rights.
If a product is defective, unsafe or fails to meet the quality requirements of the CPA, you may return it within six months of delivery, where section 56 applies. Following a reasonable assessment to establish the fault, you may choose a repair, replacement or refund as provided by law. BOA Beauty Bar will bear the return costs for qualifying defective products.
If we delivered an incorrect product, we will arrange its return and the appropriate replacement or refund at our expense.
Original packaging
Please return products in their original packaging wherever possible, including any accessories and labels. If the packaging is unavailable, please package the item securely.
A valid statutory claim for a defective product will not be refused solely because the original packaging is missing or the product was opened or reasonably used before the defect became apparent.
Seven-day cooling-off period for online purchases
Where section 44 of ECTA applies, you may cancel your purchase without giving a reason or paying a penalty within seven days after receiving the goods.
Please notify us within that period and arrange the return with our team. You will be responsible only for the direct cost of returning the goods under this cooling-off right. Payments will be refunded within 30 days of cancellation.
Certain goods are excluded from this right by law, including personalised goods and goods that, by their nature, cannot be returned or are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. Any exclusion will apply only where legally permitted.
Beauty products and hygiene
Please avoid opening or using a product if you intend to return it under the cooling-off provisions, and keep its seals and original packaging intact wherever possible.
Opened or used beauty products will be assessed according to the applicable legal return rights and the nature of the product. Hygiene considerations do not remove your rights in respect of defective or unsafe goods.
Damage caused after delivery
We do not accept defect claims where the problem was caused by misuse, improper storage, accidental damage, unauthorised alterations or failure to follow the product’s instructions. This does not affect claims relating to an existing defect or another failure for which BOA Beauty Bar is legally responsible.
How to request a return
Contact us using the contact details on our website and provide:
-
Your order number or other proof of purchase.
-
The product name and reason for the return.
-
Photographs of the issue, where reasonably possible.
Our team will provide return or collection instructions. Please contact us before dispatching the goods so we can arrange the appropriate return process. Our administrative process does not extend or restrict any statutory deadline.
Refunds
Refunds will ordinarily be made to the original payment method, unless otherwise agreed. We will not require you to accept store credit instead of a refund where you are legally entitled to a refund.
No handling or restocking fee will apply to a qualifying defective-product return or a valid ECTA cooling-off cancellation. Refunds will be processed without undue delay and within any applicable statutory timeframe.
Your statutory rights
This policy does not exclude any other return, refund, warranty or remedy available under South African law. If any provision conflicts with applicable law, the law will prevail.
